President’s Letter Sent!

By now you should have received your copy of Melissa’s lovingly-composed President’s Letter in the mail…but if you’re one of those unlucky classmates whose alumni mail is sent to your parents’ house or the place you lived three apartments ago, you can download the pdf here.

Alternatively, if you just want the info and aren’t interested in seeing my beautiful layout design, you can read the text of it below. ;o)

September 2011

Hello Tigers!

It was great to see so many of you at Reunions! Liz, Amy, Lucia, and I are so excited to have the opportunity to represent such an enthusiastic and dedicated class. We’ve already met to talk about a variety of ways that the Alumni Officers can best serve the Class of 2006 and we’re looking forward to a great five years!

Reunions Recap
In keeping with our reputation as one of Princeton’s most enthusiastic classes—our 5th Reunion was a fantastic success. Thanks to the blood, sweat, and many tears of our Reunions Co-Chairs Catie Cambria, Tim Prugar, and Duncan Sahner, over 800 event wristbands were sold. An amazing 68% of our class attended—breaking a long-standing record at the University. The many of you who attended represented our class well. Over the course of the weekend, we kicked almost 400 kegs and performed the first-ever P-Rade flash mob with our Thriller dance.

A big thank you to Catie, Tim and Duncan for all their hard work over the last five years and to the many, many volunteers and committee chairs that made sure everything ran smoothly! We all want to make sure that our major reunions only keep getting better, so we’ve put together a survey to gather your feedback from our 5th. Let us know what you loved and what you think might need to change. If you’re interested in participating in the process, let us know that as well! You’ll receive an email soon with a link to the survey or you can find the information on our website: www.princeton2006.com.

New Ways to Keep in Touch
In preparing for reunions, hopefully, you’ve gotten to see our new class website located at www.princeton2006.com. We’re going to start using the site as a central location for class information, activities, and resources. There you will find dues information, upcoming activities, and class notes. Make sure that you sign-up for the site and check it frequently!

We’ve also created a facebook group to help our class to stay in touch. Make sure you go to: www.facebook.com/Princeton2006 and like our page! You’ll be kept up to date on changes to the website, upcoming events, and other important information. It’s also a great way for y’all to reconnect with each other!

Regional Representatives
Our class has Regional Representatives in many major cities in the US who help organize regional events and resources for our class. They put together happy hours, organize rides to tailgates and other events, and generally help to connect classmates to each other no matter how far from Nassau Hall. You can find contact information for your Regional Rep on our website. If you’re interested in becoming a rep in your city—send me an email to let me know!

DUES
Your dues keep the Class of 2006 alive and allow us to pay for the following great things:

// PAW Subscriptions
// Class of 2006 Mailings
// Class of 2006 Events
// Alumni Council Dues
// Class of 2006 Website

Please remember to pay your class dues for this fiscal year (July 1, 2011 – June 30, 2012) to ensure that you continue to receive the PAW and other great class benefits. This year, the dues rate is $30. However, you also have the option of paying your dues through 2016 for $125. This ensures a locked-in $25 annual rate over five years, regardless of whether we will need to increase dues in the future.

More importantly—it’s easy to pay your dues online through PayPal. Just log on to www.paypal.com and enter PU06Dues@gmail.com as the recipient. You don’t even have to set up a PayPal account to complete this transaction. If you prefer, you can also pay by check or money order. A check/money order written to the Princeton Class of 2006 can be sent to:

PRINCETON CLASS OF 2006
C/O 1ST CONSTITUTIONAL BANK
P.O. BOX 634
CRANBURY, NJ 08512-0634

Just a reminder that your dues are not the same as Annual Giving donations, though both types of contributions are always appreciated! For more information on class dues and annual giving, please visit our website at www.princeton2006.com.

Our goal as your Alumni Officers is to keep the Class of 2006 involved with the University and with each other. We’re always excited to hear your ideas about what we can do to make our class better. Don’t hesitate to contact any of us with your thoughts!

Best of luck in your endeavours this fall and you’ll be hearing from us soon!

Reunions Mobile

The University runs a mobile-enabled site with TONS of information all about Reunions. Schedules, maps, headquarters information, parking and shuttle information, fireworks information and a live stream of the choreographed soundtrack — you can get all of it by pointing your phone or BB to:

Reunions Walking Puzzle

The classes of ’74 and ’75 have created a walking puzzle for Reunions 2011.

As they write:
“The attached puzzle was inspired by a request from the Princetoniana Committee to create an educational ‘quiz’ that might interest friends and family of alumni who are returning for reunions this year. It may seem complicated if you just read it, but it’s fairly straightforward in practice. [I]t might be a fun activity for family and friends who did not attend alma mater. It’s designed to begin and end at Frist, taking about 30 minutes for the whole journey (roughly from 1879 to Whitman to Nassau Hall).”
